Hokies Football Media Center
Credential Policies
Football media credential applications are coordinated through the Virginia Tech Strategic Communications Department. Credential requests are screened in accordance with FWAA and Virginia Tech Athletics guidelines and are subject to approval, denial or revocation at the discretion of the Athletics Communications Department.
Spouses, dates, children, equipment carriers and non-workers are restricted from the press box, sidelines and locker rooms. Any abuse of a working credential will result in the media agency losing credential privileges.
Traditional print, television and radio (media agency) regularly assigned to cover Virginia Tech, collegiate athletics and/or the visiting team will receive first priority, as well as national news-gathering agencies.
Only media outlets that have a track record of consistently participating in and attending Virginia Tech Football media availabilities will be considered for season credentials. All other outlets will only be considered on a game-by-game basis. Priority in the credentialing process will be given to outlets who employ dedicated, full-time personnel to covering Virginia Tech Athletics and Tech Football. Outlets applying for multiple credentials should have one individual apply one behalf of the entire organization.
Credentials for online Internet sites will be granted to Virginia Tech-operated websites, the visiting team's official website and the Atlantic Coast Conference's official website.
